Philadelphia Fight is scheduled to battle the Jacksonville, FL Axemen this Saturday at West Chester University's Farrell Stadium. The Fight is Philadelphia's American National Rugby League (AMNRL) team. Although there are variations in the rules between Union and League, going out to watch Philadelphia Fight will show support for rugby in the Philadelphia area and demonstrate support for rugby nationwide.
"The Battle to Strike-out ALS" marks the opening of the 2008 AMNRL season. The match is being presented by Kildare's Irish Pub and the Greater Philadelphia Area ALS Association, which supports research for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease). For every $5 game ticket that is sold $2 will go to the Greater Philadelphia Area ALS Association. After the game, a post-match party is being thrown to benefit ALS and the 2008 Fight season.
The game starts at 12:30 p.m. and the after-party is set to kick-off at 3 p.m. at Kildare's Irish Pub in West Chester.
