USA Rugby is seeking to promote rugby by emphasizing the breadth of opportunity in the game, and educating people on its various forms through the launch of the "Rugby for All" continuum.“There is much more to rugby than the full contact 15-a-side game. The global game of rugby offers many versions flexible enough to suit all athletic abilities, ages and genders,” USA Rugby CEO and President of Rugby explained on USARugby.org. “Contact or non-contact, seven-a-side to 15's, whether you are playing, refereeing, coaching or administrating, rugby truly is a game for everyone.”
Part of the "Rugby for All" continuum is the introduction of Rookie Rugby -- a new no-contact form of the game for ruggers ranging from ages 6 to 12. It is set to be launched in October.
USA Rugby has also developed officiating and coaching courses that support each level of the game, including Rookie Rugby, as another part of the continuum.
"Rugby for All" is the first of several planned initiatives by USA Rugby to promote the sport and its image as a game centered on family, health, fitness and fun.
